The EU might “act quickly and firmly” in response to what it deems “unjustified” travel bans imposed by the United States against five European individuals working on combating digital hatred and disinformation, an EU official has said.

EU Officials Decry US Move as ‘Coercion’

Officials from Europe such as Emmanuel Macron accused Washington of “coercion and intimidation”, after the travel bans targeted figures that were central to efforts to enact laws regulating US-based technology firms.
