Area Law Enforcement
Around 50 vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's town of Hanau in proximity to Frankfurt, as reported by law enforcement.
Automobiles, walls and postal boxes were marked, in some cases with Nazi symbols, they stated in a official communication.
Law enforcement say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual noticed that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been marked with a red-colored liquid.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a swastika, they stated.
Police then found numerous other marked automobiles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.
Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the public display of Nazi symbols.
Law enforcement say initial examinations show the substance was likely human bodily fluid.
"Currently there is no indication as to where it came from; officials are presently not informed of any injuries in connection with the incident," they commented.
City officials announced they were attempting "to resolve the mystery" and have asked to the community for tips.
A senior political figure said the incident made him without words and needed to be solved promptly.
"This act hits the very heart of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he posted on a platform, mentioning the murder of nine victims by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in five years prior.
